Later this year, we will hit a significant milestone; there will be 7 billion people alive on this planet. More than 3 billion people will live in Asia alone. That is a staggering number. And this begs the question; can the Earth support the 7 billion people that will live on it? This is what our newest issue seeks to ask.

The business community will go green, have no doubt about it. The pressure to go green is immense, with everyone from politicians to consumers pushing for more sustainable business practices, a better living environment, and more recyclable products. And how they will go about going green is going to be the issue we will talk about. In all things, there is a catch, and there is a price to pay. I wonder if the price to pay for going green is higher than what we can afford. There are always two sides to every coin, and we strive to show you both.

Let us all create awareness, and let us all try to solve the problem that looms before us: How would 7 billion people live on this planet in a sustainable manner? This is good country, pardner. The least you can do is leave it like you find it. A hundred years from now a better man than you will wonder if you did.

Previous winners of this prestigious award include such notables as Dato’ Sri Tony Fernandez of Air Asia, Tan Sri Azman Hashim of AMBank, and Tan Sri Limkokwing, President of the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. The award has grown into one of the biggest events in the Malaysian social calendar.   The Leaders Magazine is also the proud organiser of the Middle East Business Leadership Awards in 2010, wholly endorsed by the Federation of Gulf Cooperation Chambers and CNBC.
